SUNRAY PLEATS

In search of personal images, inner visions, mixing sensitivity and states of mind, this work uses visual experience, not respecting the rules of three-dimensional perspective, thus modifying the normal perception of earth and sky, in order to let itself be bewitched by the play of shadow, light, depth, and to make contemplation the central point of the picture.

The representations and atmosphere created in these photographs are not intended to elicit concrete associations of ideas but offer a kind of mental disposition so that one can enter them and see things infinitely. These intimate, slightly disturbed landscapes, unreal, fleeting spaces, with a monochromatic palette, evolve in the blink of an eye as if in a dream scene.

Switching between inside and outside or no longer differentiating one from the other to accentuate the differences between dissimilar times and spaces and their mutual links.

Using shapes or shadows to establish points of reference, creating spatial relationships that are impossible to discern when observing the natural world, and then bringing the sensation of time passing into the representation itself.

Photograph the transformations and contrasts of the Earth's movement. Photographing what has a shape, but without describing it, rather giving it the power to provoke sensations; a palpable and perceptible world, a dreamlike setting, is thus found in the window opened by the frame of the photosensitive surface, this window so luminous and dark at the same time, almost without background.

Photographing silence, the dark inner depths.
